Nannette Huff 2022 Linda Todd Scholarship Recipient

  The 2022 Linda Todd Scholarship was presented to Nannette Huff at the Virginia Beach Branch May Banquet held at the Baker’s Crust on May 18, 2022. Mrs. Huff is completing her AA degree in Health and Human Services at Bryant & Stratton University in August as well as continuing on with her BA degree in the fall. Upon completion of her education she plans help others while continuing to work towards her doctorate degree.   Mrs. Huff is a full time wife, mother and grandmother.  Outside of school she volunteers wherever she is needed.

2018

The 2018 Linda Todd Scholarship was presented to Mischallelean Carter at the Virginia Beach Branch May Banquet held at the Virginia Beach Resort Hotel and Conference Center on May 16, 2018. Mrs. Carter is completing her degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Health Services Administration from Strayer  University. Upon completion of her education she plans work in the medical field as a Senior Administrator (Director) in a health care facility where I am able to use my vast knowledge in patient care, benefits and finance.   Mrs. Carter is a full time wife, mother and grandmother.  Outside of school she works diligently with the youth at her church and heading up the music department.

The 2016 recipients of the Linda Todd Scholarship were recognized at the Virginia Beach Branch May Banquet held at the Virginia Beach Resort Hotel and Conference Center on May 18, 2016.  Eve Bruce is a Business major at Virginia Wesleyan College and she plans to graduate in December 2016. She started her trek towards a goal of earning a degree in 1997.  From 2001 to 2009, she was working full time and raising a family. In 2010 she returned to Virginia Wesleyan and for the last six years she maintain a steady pace and now the end is in sight and AAUW of Virginia Beach is happy to be a part of Eve reaching her goal.  Joy Morrow is a Science major at Tidewater Community College and she aspire to attend Hampton University’s Doctorate of Pharmacy program in the Fall of 2018.  Her dream is to become a Pharmacist.  She’s a full time mother, employee and student.  She sets short and long term goals for herself, so that she is always completing something towards her goal of earning her degree.   Kossiwa Amevor is a Science major at Tidewater Community College and after completing her bachelor’s degree, she plans to attend medical school. Kossiwa ambition is to become a humanitarian doctor and work for charities like UNICEF.   She wants to use her medical experience to engage, contribute, and promote equal opportunity in access

to care for people living in precarious conditions. She currently participates in the Women Inspiring Self-Empowerment Leadership Development Program as well as volunteers at Sentara Norfolk General in the post-surgical unit.
