Girls in grades six to eight, along with a parent or caregiver, are invited to attend STEM4Girls on Saturday, March 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  at Tidewater Community College in Virginia Beach. STEM4Girls is a hands-on conference where girls will explore careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), meet women working in STEM fields and discover new interests in STEM. Parents and caregivers can attend hands-on STEM workshops, as well as classes to learn about helping their middle schooler understand careers in STEM and navigate social situations.  The cost is $15 per person and includes lunch, snacks, and a T-shirt for the middle schoolers.

Volunteers Needed

Please sign up to volunteer for the Virginia Beach Branch of AAUW STEM 4 Girls conference. This will be a daylong science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) career conference designed to attract girls in sixth through eighth grade to these fields and to inform families about STEM education and careers.  There will be hands-on workshops where you can choose to experience the joys of discovery in the areas such as how to clean water, etc.etc.
